Informacje biograficzne / Biographic information:

Moje badania dotyczą głównie teorii Junga i literatury. Wynikiem badań były trzy książki: CG Jung and Literary Theory(Palgrave, 1999), Jung: A Feminist Revision (Polity, 2002) i Jung as a Writer (Routledge, 2005) oraz szereg opracowań i artykułów. W 2006 roku na University of Greenich zorganizowałam multi-dyscyplinarną jungowską konferencję Psyche i wyobraźnia (6-9. lipca 2006).

I joined the School of Humanities & Social Sciences in 1996 after gaining my Ph.D from the University of Newcastle on Jung and contemporary novels. My research is mainly into Jung, literary theory and literature. This has resulted in three books, C.G. Jung and Literary Theory (Palgrave, 1999), Jung: A Feminist Revision (Polity, 2002), and Jung as a Writer (Routledge, 2005), as well as numerous papers and articles. In 2006 I organised a multi-disciplinary Jungian conference here at the university called Psyche and Imagination, July 6-9th 2006. I supervise doctoral students and teach on the MA by Research in English.

In addition to augmenting psychoanalytic theory by developing Jung and the arts, I research detective fiction. My book, From Agatha Christie to Ruth Rendell(Palgrave, 2000), is a useful study of culture and the novel form. All my research is used to enhance my teaching in such areas as literary theory, modern fiction, women’s writing, poetry, history of the novel and studies in literary genres.
